Portcullis Group was founded by Chairman, the Suffolk businessman Tim Meadows-Smith, when he merged his Bury St Edmunds based New Media Business Group with the lobbying firm Portcullis founded by Sir Charles Cockburn.
The group has five business services subsidiaries ranging from market access services, through strategic advice and communications to digital services. It has nine joint ventures in health care, housing, fitness, security, energy and railways where it is designing, building, and operating the new $7.5bn freight railway from Dhaka to Paryra in Bangladesh. Portcullis Market Access and Portcullis Digital are both based in Bury St Edmunds.
